Detailed experience with a Malbec case

I ordered a case of Malbec from Virgin Wines, mostly attracted by an email offer. The ordering process was clear, and I opted for the standard delivery. It took about 3 business days for the case to arrive, which was within the timeframe given. The packaging was sturdy, and all bottles were intact. I contacted customer service once about a vintage query before ordering, and they responded within a day, which was helpful. The Malbecs themselves were enjoyable, a good mix of styles for the price point. No issues with payment or website navigation. Overall, a solid experience for someone looking to try different wines without needing to visit multiple stores.

Easy way to get some wine

Needed some wine for a get-together, so I just grabbed a case of Prosecco from here. It was super easy to order online, didn't have any trouble finding what I wanted. It showed up pretty quick, too, which was nice. Everything was packed well, no broken bottles or anything. Just a smooth, simple way to buy wine, really.

Good wines, delivery could improve

I recently ordered the Aussie Red Wine Showcase. The selection was quite good, and I found a few new favorites I wouldn't have tried otherwise. The quality for the price was definitely there, which I appreciate. My main quibble is with the delivery; it took 5 days to reach me, and tracking updates were a bit sparse. It arrived safely, but faster shipping or clearer communication would make it a perfect experience.

Great deal for first order

I was looking for a good deal on wine and saw their new customer offer. I got 50% off my first Mixed Wine Case, which felt like a steal. The process was straightforward, and the wine arrived without any issues. It definitely made the purchase feel worth it for the amount I saved. I'd recommend it if you're a first-time buyer looking to try them out.

Do they do NHS discounts? Or any discount for essential workers, thinking of getting a gift for my sister.

M Mia E. 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure I saw something about an NHS discount recently, or maybe it was a past offer. Worth checking their specific discount codes page or just doing a quick search for 'Virgin Wines NHS discount'.

They've definitely had NHS discounts before, I think it comes and goes though. Usually, you'd find it advertised on one of those employee discount portals or on their own site around certain times. No harm in checking if it's active right now!

Hey, thinking about ordering a mixed case for a party next weekend. How long does shipping usually take to like, Chicago? Need it by next Friday.

P Paula 1 month ago
I'm pretty sure Virgin Wines is a UK company, so shipping to Chicago might be a bit of a stretch for next-day or even next-week delivery. You might want to check their site, but I've only ever seen UK delivery options.

Yeah, pretty sure they're UK-based. You'd probably be looking at crazy international shipping fees and times if they even do it. Might be better to find a local US wine delivery service for that timeframe.

Anyone know if you can stack that 50% off first case deal with the WineBank credit? Or is it one or the other?

A Anna T. 4 weeks ago
Nah, pretty sure those big intro deals like 50% off are usually standalone and get you into the WineBank. I don't think you can combine them with the WineBank credit itself, as that's more for existing members.

From what I remember when I signed up, the 50% off is basically your 'first' deal for joining. The WineBank credit thing is separate, like you deposit and they add more. So, likely not stackable directly, but the 50% is a good starting point.

Is Virgin Wines actually any good? Like compared to Naked Wines or Laithwaites. Been seeing their ads everywhere.

W Wendy Kaur 1 month ago
I've used both Virgin Wines and Naked Wines. Virgin Wines often has better deals on mixed cases for new customers, and I like their selection. Naked Wines can be good if you really want to support specific winemakers directly, but Virgin's quality for the price is solid imo.

They're legit. I'd say they're pretty comparable to Laithwaites in terms of quality and range, maybe a bit more modern feel. The WineBank thing is actually a decent way to save if you're a regular buyer.

My order arrived but one of the bottles was corked, it totally spoiled the case. What's their return policy like for that kind of thing? Is it a hassle?

W Wendy 1 month ago
They're usually pretty good about corked bottles. I had one once and just emailed their support, they sorted out a replacement or credit really quickly, no fuss.

Yeah, they have a policy for corked wine. I've heard they're pretty understanding about it, just let them know which one it was and they'll usually make it right. Not a hassle at all, it's a known issue that can happen.
